Nordic Metalearning is a unique and sustainable company whose main task is to create healthy and sustainable learning cultures. We do this by passing on and teaching meta-learning. We take pride in our work and have therefore developed courses in meta-learning that are easily understandable for everyone and can be easily implemented in a busy everyday life.

Nordic Metalearning
a sustainable learning culture that
strengthens self-esteem, well-being and community.
The ideas behind Nordic Metalearning
Nordic Metalearning was started on the basis of observations in society, and conversations with researchers, professors from teacher education, school teachers, and pedagogues. Many would like to change the conditions for children and young people, but find it difficult in a busy everyday life, under the fixed framework that society has created. Therefore, Nordic Metalearning has specialized in, and developed methods that can be adapted and implemented in practice, and which make a positive difference to children and young people’s learning, well-being, and development.
Health statistics and the media often mention that children and young people struggle with stress, anxiety, and school refusal as a result of inappropriate structures in society. Studies show that many children and young people feel pressured by a lack of time, increased performance requirements, as well as expectations to appear perfect at school, in their free time, and on social media. This speaks to a social rhetoric that increased acceleration and performance requirements make children and young people sick.
Nordic Metalearning sees enormous potential in passing on meta-learning to teachers and pedagogues, because they play a significant role in society, and because meta-learning is highlighted as crucial for children’s ability to thrive in our society, both now and in the future. That is why we have established a capable company, whose main task is to strengthen children’s communities and change cultures of perfection and performance into a sustainable learning culture.

We ask questions about existing pedagogical understandings.
As a teacher or educator, you use your own personality to carry out your work. Many find that it can feel hard and lonely at times, because you are often alone with challenges you have not dealt with during your education. Pedagogical competence is something that is largely built up through experience and what works for one may not work for another. It is completely natural when we work with people.
At Nordic Meta-learning, we explore the resources and strategies teachers and pedagogues draw on when working with pedagogy. Where do they come from, what significance do they have for children and young people’s thinking and development? And how pedagogy can be used in new ways to strengthen children and young people’s identity and sense of self-esteem, so that they can thrive with the challenges and demands of the future.
Nordic Metalearning is therefore aimed at teachers, pedagogues, and other professionals who are themselves curious and searching for new ways of working with pedagogy. Together we look at many of the paradoxes and challenges associated with educational work and how they can be approached in new ways.
A broad professional and experience-based foundation.
Many years of experience have shown us that a broad professional knowledge is essential in order to succeed in teaching children and young people about meta-learning. For us, it is not enough to convey meta-learning. Our goal is to make a significant difference for our partners, so that they themselves can make a decisive difference to the lives of children and young people in the world. Therefore, our methods in meta-learning are broadly based and draw on diverse traditions.
